Welcome to the John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School Alumnae Association

The 2025 Communion Breakfast scheduled for Oct 19 has been canceled.

We were unable to finalize this October event. We have started to plan the 2026 Annual Communion Breakfast, hoping to make this more rewarding for our members.

President’s Message

Thank you for your continuing support.

Dear fellow Alumnae, Thank you for your continuing support. The Board members are always praying for your good health and happiness. Along with the HHAA Board Members, I invite everyone to renew their 2026 membership or join the Alumnae Assn ($10). We Need Your Support to continue the Legacy Scholarships. We are determined to preserve and promote the traditions of our beloved Hallahan High. And we work diligently throughout the year, with meetings and phone calls and more phone calls — to ensure that the Hallhan Spirit and friendships continue. We are supported through your dues and donations, and various fundraisers held throughout the year. Our Sweepstakes every June supports our scholarship fund.

The Legacy scholarships have been raised to $2000/year, and with the start of school year September 2025, we have 20 exceptional young ladies receiving Legacy Scholarships. The funds raised by the Sweepstakes allow the Alumnae Association to continue to provide partial four-year scholarships to incoming female freshman students attending Philadelphia Archdiocesan High Schools. Tickets are mailed in May. Drawings are held in June.

Part of our mission is to CONTINUE TO CELEBRATE OUR UNIQUE SISTERHOOD as Alumnae of Hallahan High. See the Event/Reunion tab on this Website. We are planning various events to gather socially.

During the 2026 Lenten Season, we invite all alumnae to a Day of Recollection. Possibly a new venue where we can join together for a Spiritual retreat and personal prayer, and ending with a gathering meal with time to socialize.

We have started to plan the ‘50 and Beyond Luncheon to be held on May 13, 2026. Lots of work goes into this event, so (especially for the Golden Girls ’76) please remember to renew (or join) the Alumnae Association in 2026. We look forward to a great time.

August 2025 we joined Roman Catholic Alumni for the DATB (Date At The Bay) in Wildwood. Great Success. Fun for all. Especially when we joined together to sing (loudly by the ocean) our Alma Mater. Oh Girls of the Hallahan High!!! The weekend event ended with many alumni attending Sunday Mass at St. Ann Church. We thank RC Alumni for ALL their help. The HH Alumnae Assn will continue this ‘shore party’ in 2026.

Third Sunday in October is the Alumnae Association’s Communion Breakfast and Annual Meeting. Mass is followed by breakfast and any concerns of the members may be addressed at that time. Save the Date: October 18, 2026

My hope and prayer are that everyone takes the time to renew their membership or to join our Alumnae. Without your support, we will be unable to continue our financial support for scholarships.

Alma Mater Glorify!

Teresa Gramlich Magee ’78, President
